Hydrothermal dolomite commonly closely associates with oil-gas reservoirs and sediment-hosted Pb-Zn deposits, the Mississippi Valley-type (MVT) Pb-Zn deposits in particular. Host rocks of MVT deposits usually experienced extensive dolomitization, and indeed, hydrothermal dolomite is considered as a useful prospective indicator for MVT mineralization. However, genetic link between the hydrothermal dolomitization and MVT Pb-Zn mineralization is a matter of debate. This paper briefly reviewed the nomenclature and research history of hydrothermal dolomite, introduced the major geological, geochemical characteristics, and distribution of hydrothermal dolomite, spatial and possibly genetic relationship between hdyrothermal dolomite and hdyrothermal ore deposits and oil-gas reservoirs based on case studies including the occurrence of hydrothermal dolomites in MVT deposits in Southwest China. The temporal and genetic relationships between dolomitizaiton and thermal sulfate reduction, sulfide precipitation and thus the location of ore mineralization well worthy more attention, and comprehensive geological and isotope geochemical and state of art in situ techniques will contribute to understanding of the genesis of hydrotherml dolomite and the spatially related ore deposits and oil-gas reservoirs. © 2018, Science Press. A detailed analysis of the diatoms from the sedimentary sequence exposed in Abu Qada basin, west central Sinai, was used to determine the palaeoenvironmental changes during the Lower to Middle Miocene. A total of 85 diatom species and varieties belonging to 37 genera were identified from 154 samples collected throughout the stratigraphic succession. The lithological characters of the studied samples varied between sandstone, silty interbeds, sandy shales, shales, and terminated with anhydrite and limestones. These rock units are included in two lithostratigraphic formations (Rudies and Kareem), which are separated by a marked unconformity. The distribution and preservation of fossil diatoms in the sedimentary record are examined with the aim of outlining the temporal and spatial variation in the composition of the diatom assemblages, in order to estimate the changes in depositional environments during the Lower to Middle Miocene. The distributional pattern of the recorded diatom taxa distinguished four diatom eco-zones. The environment of each eco-zone is deduced and a proposed paleobathymetric change and depositional history of the Miocene sediments in the studied area are given.  相似文献

The internal energies and entropies of 21 well-known minerals were calculated using the density functional theory (DFT), viz. kyanite, sillimanite, andalusite, albite, microcline, forsterite, fayalite, diopside, jadeite, hedenbergite, pyrope, grossular, talc, pyrophyllite, phlogopite, annite, muscovite, brucite, portlandite, tremolite, and CaTiO3–perovskite. These thermodynamic quantities were then transformed into standard enthalpies of formation from the elements and standard entropies enabling a direct comparison with tabulated values. The deviations from reference enthalpy and entropy values are in the order of several kJ/mol and several J/mol/K, respectively, from which the former is more relevant. In the case of phase transitions, the DFT-computed thermodynamic data of involved phases turned out to be accurate and using them in phase diagram calculations yields reasonable results. This is shown for the Al2SiO5 polymorphs. The DFT-based phase boundaries are comparable to those derived from internally consistent thermodynamic data sets. They even suggest an improvement, because they agree with petrological observations concerning the coexistence of kyanite?+?quartz?+?corundum in high-grade metamorphic rocks, which are not reproduced correctly using internally consistent data sets. The DFT-derived thermodynamic data are also accurate enough for computing the P–T positions of reactions that are characterized by relatively large reaction enthalpies (>?100 kJ/mol), i.e., dehydration reactions. For reactions with small reaction enthalpies (a few kJ/mol), the DFT errors are too large. They, however, are still far better than enthalpy and entropy values obtained from estimation methods.  相似文献

Specific responses of plants and animals to changes in the contents of microelements (Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, As, Se, etc.) in abiotic environmental components of the Ardon River Basin (North Ossetia) were studied by new biogeochemical indication methods. In comparison to background areas, a local increase in the Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, and As contents in soils and organisms occurs under the impact of natural and technogenic factors. The heavy metal contents in Ardon River water are generally within hygienic norms. Activation of sulfurcontaining synthesis in the leaves of willow, sea buckthorn, and coltsfoot was revealed for the maximum heavy metal content in soils. On plots adjacent to the Unal tailing dump, the contents of pigments and their proportions in leaves of coltsfoot, dandelion, and willow do not differ from those in less contaminated areas. On technogenic plots, the species richness of plants decreases, as well as the mowed biomass and projective cover of herbaceous plants (to 40%); inhibition of plant growth, chlorosis, necrosis, and lamina deformation are observed. A new metallophyte species (Cladochaeta candidissima M. Bieb.) was revealed. The increase in lead and arsenic contents in soils and plants of the Ardon floodplain is accompanied by an increase in their concentrations in the blood and hair of animals.  相似文献

The first data were obtained on the total mercury content in hydrobionts and their habitat in Grønfjorden, Spitsbergen, at the waste discharge sites of the settlement of Barentsburg in early spring 2017. The Hg concentration was below the detection limit in the water and varied from 7.1 to 42.3 ng/g of dry weight in the bottom sediments. Mercury concentration in the hydrobionts increased toward the inner fjord and was higher near the mouth of the Grøndalen River, which flows into the fjord. Elevated Hg concentrations at the mouth of the Grøndalen River indicate that much of the toxic metal is brought to the inner part of the fjord with riverine runoff, and this Hg source is likely more important than the surface supply of Hg transferred from local surface pollution centers at Barentsburg. The Hg concentration depended on the position of the marine organisms in the trophic chain and was the highest in the detritophage mollusks Thyasira gouldi, Cardium sp., and Macoma calcarea, the specialized predatory sea snail Cryptonatica affinis, and the cod Gadus morhua, which is a benthosophage–secondary predator. The total Hg concentrations in the hydrobionts and their habitat in Grønfjorden were generally relatively low and close to the background one.  相似文献

The geodynamic nature of the Late Neoproterozoic island-arc dacites (691 ± 8.8 Ma) and rift basalts (572 ± 6.5 Ma) of the Kiselikhinskaya Formation, Kutukasskaya Group, in the Isakovskii terrane is inferred from geochemical data and U–Pb zircon (SHRIMP-II) dates. The volcanic rocks were produced during the late evolutionary history of the Yenisei Range, starting at the origin of oceanic crustal fragments and their accretion to the Siberian craton to the postaccretionary crustal extension and the onset of the Caledonian orogenesis. The reproduced sequence of geological processes marks the early evolution of the Paleo- Asian Ocean in its junction zone with the Siberian craton. The data refine the composition and age of volcanic rocks in the trans-Angara part of the Yenisei Range and specifics of the Neoproterozoic evolution of the Sayan–Yenisei accretionary belt.  相似文献

Apatite is a concentrator of F and Cl, which play a significant role in the formation of minerals of platinum-group elements of pneumatolitic origin. There are three apatite generations in Norilsk magmatic sulfide ores. Apatite I occurs in sulfide bodies and rims of fluid alteration above sulfide droplets in disseminated ores. Its composition evolved from hydroxyl-chlorapatite to chlorapatite. Apatite I associates with Tiрbiotite, titanomagnetite, ilmenite with baddeleyite lamellae, anhydrite, Ti-poor kaersutite, Cl-bearing hastingsite and edenite, djerfisherite, bartonite, and minerals of the Pt and Au groups. Apatite I contains up to 2.3 wt % lanthanides, primarily Ce, La, and Nd. Apatite I is overgrown and replaced by apatite II, the composition of which evolved from hydroxyl-chlor-fluorapatite to fluorapatite. Apatite II often occurs also as individual crystals in massive sulfides and contains up to 0.9 wt % lanthanides. The pneumatolitic chlorapatite and fluorapatite contain ~0.5 wt % SiO2. The composition of apatite indicates discrete evolution of fluids released during the crystallization of Norilsk sulfide melts: from water–chloride to chloride at the first state, and from water–chlorite–fluoride to essentially fluoride at the second stage. The lanthanides released during the replacement of chlorapatite I by fluorapatite II were probably incorporated in pneumatolitic zoned orthite-(Ce). In the areas affected by prehnite–pumpellyite metamorphism, apatite I and apatite II within metamorphosed sulfide ores are partly or completely replaced by apatite III, which varies in composition from hydroxyl-chlorapatite to hydroxylapatite poor in fluorine and lanthanides. The lanthanides released during the replacement of apatite I and II by metamorphic hydroxylapatite III were probably incorporated in metamorphic unzoned orthite-(Ce).  相似文献

Fluoro-sodalite was synthesized for the first time at temperatures of 400–800°C and H2O pressures of 1–2 kbar in the Si–Al–Na–H–O–F system. X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopic investigations showed that fluorine is incorporated in the sodalite structure as anionic octahedral groups, [AlF6]3–, the number of which can vary from 0 to 1. Correspondingly, the end-members of the F-sodalite series are Na7(H2O)8[Si5Al7O24] and Na8(AlF6)(H2O)4[Si7Al5O24]. Depending on the composition of the system, F-sodalite associates at 500–650°C with nepheline, albite, cryolite, and villiaumite, which are joined by analcime below 500°C and aluminosilicate melt above 650°C. Fluorine-bearing sulfate–chlorine-sodalite was found for the first time in a pegmatite sample from the Lovozero massif. The highest fraction of the fluorine end-member in natural sodalite is 0.2. The incorporation of F into the sodalite structure requires much more energy compared with Cl and SO 4 2- , because it is accompanied by a structural rearrangement and a transition from tetrahedral Al to octahedral Al.  相似文献

The paper reviews data (acquired in 2007–2016) on aliphatic and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in comparison with data on concentrations of lipids, Corg, and chlorophyll a in the water and bottom sediments the river–sea geochemical barrier (for the Northern Dvina, Ob, Yenisei, and Lena rivers). It was established that the concentrations of anthropogenic hydrocarbons decrease and these compounds precipitate like other organic compounds and particulate matter, where riverine and marine waters mix. Relatively pure water flows in the pelagic zones of seas. In spite of low temperatures in the Arctic, anthropogenic hydrocarbons transform so rapidly that natural compounds dominate in the water and bottom sediments: autochthonous in the seawater and allochthonous in the bottom sediments.  相似文献
